Apple Announces Winners of 2023 App Store Awards

This year’s winners showcase the scope of creativity, technical innovation, and design possible across the App Store and Apple’s ecosystem.

In a remarkable showcase of digital creativity and technical prowess, Apple has unveiled the winners of its prestigious 2023 App Store Awards. This year's selection highlights an eclectic mix of 14 apps and games, celebrated for their innovative contributions in empowering users and enriching digital experiences across Apple’s platforms.

  • Mac App of the Year: Photomator, offering machine learning-powered editing tools.

  • Apple TV App of the Year: MUBI, curating indie films with a human touch.

  • Apple Watch App of the Year: SmartGym, enhancing fitness experiences.

  • iPhone Game of the Year: Honkai: Star Rail, offering a tactically rich narrative.

  • iPad Game of the Year: Lost in Play, a whimsical point-and-click adventure.

  • Mac Game of the Year: Lies of P, a dark fantasy world exploration.

  • Apple Arcade Game of the Year: Hello Kitty Island Adventure, focusing on friendship.


Additionally, Apple's App Store Editors identified five "Cultural Impact Winners," lauding their ability to drive positive change. These include Pok Pok, Proloquo, Too Good To Go, Unpacking, and Finding Hannah, each offering unique, inclusive, and accessible experiences.


The "Trend of the Year" identified by the editors is generative AI, reflecting its burgeoning role in app development and user experience.
